So often in making a wedding film I’m looking for ways to highlight the unique qualities of the bride and groom’s relationship. I’m always asking: How can I capture the interests and personality of the couple and use that to shape for them something that is truly original?

For Elizabeth and Ben, this process happened naturally. In speaking with the couple in pre-production, I had the opportunity to get to know them, understanding that to them there were few things as important as spending time with family, having fun with friends and listening to hip-hop! I knew that the day would be filled with traditional elegance but would also be an entertaining and epic party.

The result is what I believe to be one of my most “experimental” wedding films. From using unorthodox compositions and shooting through mirrors to using a more hip-hop inspired soundtrack which allowed for the fast-paced rhythm of the editing, I wanted to make Elizabeth and Ben feel that this was not only their wedding film but also their music video.

My number one priority is to capture the day’s intimate and heartfelt moments. These moments, in their nature fleeting, are what make each wedding truly unique. Whether it be a father surprising and hugging his daughter before she walks down the aisle or a mother acknowledging the unwavering love she has for her own mother, highlighting these gentle moments are what make the film memorable.

Ultimately Elizabeth and Ben’s wedding film celebrates both the couple and the importance and beauty of family. Here’s to the beginning of Elizabeth and Ben’s new family together. Enjoy!
