It’s not very often one can revel in the reuniting of an old friend while also celebrating their wedding day. I have known Shaun since middle school and up until right before his special day I hadn’t seen him in nearly a decade. I can easily say that he’s one of the most fun-loving, free-spirited and genuine souls I’ve met and upon meeting Amanda, I could instantly tell that the two were kindred spirits.

For their wedding film I wanted to keep things fresh and light-hearted, emphasizing the wild golf cart rides, the costume photo booth and the guests blowing bubbles in celebration. I’m sure that Amanda and Shaun’s life together will be filled with so many days of excitement and adventure and I felt that the film should foreshadow all good things to come.

The brightness of spring greens and pops of vivid pinks that were incorporated in the wedding’s aesthetic, further perpetuated the day’s energy. The color of the flowers could only be matched by the personality of Amanda and Shaun’s close friends and family. Flashes of smiling faces, playful laughter and nicknames sewn into clothing are glimpses into a memorable gathering of a family full of life and energy.

In making a wedding film, one should hope to capture the relationship of the newlyweds (in all its subtle moments), in microcosm - the longing looks out the window, the receiving of gifts, the holding of hands, the dances, the walks to the car, the preparation for important days filled with nervous anticipation. In doing so I hope to encourage the bride and groom to continue to discover each other and wish for them that their “days be good and long upon the earth.” Enjoy!
